For most couples, the ceremony is the most important part of the big day, so getting the music right can be an integral part of setting the tone, whether you're having a church or civil ceremony.
Stella includes classical, Irish and modern music in her repertoire (which can be downloaded on the left), though this is by no means a definitive list.
She sings and plays piano, meaning you don't have to pay for an accompanist also. However, should you wish, you can also add in additional instruments, e.g. violin, trumpet or flute or second singer. She can also perform with a string trio or quartet. Although based in Dublin, Stella travels nationwide.
Stella is also available to perform at your pre-dinner drinks reception, either as a solo performer using high quality backing tracks or with her pianist and double bass player. Have your guests relax and enjoy the timeless songs of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack while they mingle before dinner.

1) Selecting Music for a Church Ceremony:
Do bear in mind that if you are getting married in a church, you should check the final music repertoire with your priest or celebrant, as occasionally non-liturgical music (and on rare occasions instrumental music) is considered inappropriate. If you have a particular favourite song or piece of music you'd like me to include, I'd be delighted to oblige, once you give me plenty of notice to learn it properly, and as long as it's appropriate to the ceremony. In addition, you may also wish to have some parts of the Mass such as Alleluia, Holy Holy, Acclamation, Our Father etc sung. or Christmas hymns for December weddings.
For a church ceremony, music will be required in the following places:
- Entrance
- Lighting of Baptismal Candles
- Responsorial Psalm
- Lighting of the Marriage Candle
- Offertory
- The Sign of Peace
- Communion (2 songs)
- Signing of the Register (2 songs)
- Recessional
------------------------
2) Selecting Music for a Civil Ceremony:
A rough guideline of where we can include music would be as follows. However, you will have greater leeway in the structure of the ceremony, and hence where you would like music to be included. Some celebrants prefer not to include liturgical music, and also may suggest you consider a sand or wine ceremony.
- Music - Entrance
- Opening Greeting by Registrar
- Music - Lighting of 2 candles
- Reading no 1
- Music
- Reading no 2
- Declaration
- Music
- Ring Ceremony
- Music - Llighting of unity candle
- Closing Greeting by Registrar
